Hey guys I been thinking about this Koni ideal and doing alittle research, I might found something to save us some money. It is just gutting out your stock struts and putting a koni insert into it. Here are some links I have found. Of course they are not G35X but its about the same.

http://www.druidhillroad.com/projects/koni/

And here is a video of someone doing it on a bmw.

I got a quote for the inserts they are 180 each for just the rebound and 280 for compression and rebound adjustments.

I would do this but I am pretty broke right now, unless someone want so buy some 350z h-techs off me.

^^ Looks like a lotta work Ernie. I just got my rear pair of koni yellows delivered yesterday, and I bought a set of OEM X fronts off someone here on driver with 18k miles on them. I'll slap those on along with the yellows then see how I feel before sending my blown oem's to KONI usa lol

As you can see in the video it took him 9 mins to do one. Doesn't seem that hard. I might have to be the guinne pig (sp).

Bro, this looks very sweet.. I also have an 04x... any issues so far... how about alignment.. the usual camber off stuff everyone reports after dropping their rides..?

How is the ride.. firm.. mushy.. any bottoming out or rubbing..?
curious minds need to know..?

I've been looking for SOMETHING that would work on the x... nobody wants to play with us... no awd toys in the suspension dept.!!

dude.. I LOVE the 04.. classic lines...!!

Thanks for your kind words!
I don't have any problems so far.
I had an alignment done right after the springs' installation.
As for the ride comfort, it's similar to the stock!
I did, however, scraped the underbody when I went over a high and long speed bump

Anyone know where to get a reinforce under body skid plate?

dunno if this helps...but here is a picture of the G35X OEM Shock assembly...maybe this can be sent to a company and they can build prob. based on picture instead of us sending OEM shocks in

How does the G35X suspension compare with the M35X one?
I found this for the M35X, and I want to see if it would fix our G35Xs.
