When I get these, all I want is a drop of about 1.25 all around, or do I have to drop it less in the rears? Also with this drop, will my alignment be screwed up?
(Started this in a other thread, decided to post it here in its proper place.)

BC Coilover Rear Adjustability

Rear coilover adjustability? Someone started another thread on this topic and I asked the question there but a moderator asked that the topic be moved to this thread where it belongs so I'll re-state and ask my question here:
There was a discussion of the adjustability of the rears of the new BC coilovers. I am out of the country but bought these anyway, they're sitting on my garage floor at home. The statement was made that the member was dissappointed with the lack of adjustability in the rear because he had a subwoofer box in the rear. I also have a sub and amps mounted in the rear of my 06X. I'm wondering if any of you who have been lucky enough to install this kit are having problems with rear adjustability and what are the problems? Any idea how much adjustment is available? I have probably 100 pounds of stereo equipment in the rear.

sound be installed wrong, when it comes time to install you should speak with BC about it on rear adjusting, I spoken with Tim @ BC tech support and that man was GREAT. He made everything clear to me. I haven't had the time to set it up tho. I'm a lot higher because i flipped the springs around and Tim told me thats the wrong way since its not fully seating only 1/2 are.

There is about least 2 inches of up and down on the rears. i didn't bother maxing it out yet.

yes sir, adjustable collars on top. It makes sense that way so you can adjust them and set pre-load without remove of the spring. Altho, one bolt with an impact to take the spring off can easily adjust the pre-load way faster then doing it with the spring on the car.

it will fit both ways, but if you flip them. there are little grooves on the lower cradled, since the collar if flat, you are not making a good contact. So best to to it the other way around. But if you flip them you might get a little more raising height... not advised tho.

I need to flip mines around but i've just been lazy and held up with other work.

Arg, I went to get the BC coilovers installed on the weekend. They were able to get the fronts installed but when they got to the rears they found that the bolt for the rear driver side shock was pretty much seized and they couldn't get it off. So right now I have the BC in the front and the stock shocks and Tien springs the back.
Also I had to set the BC all the way to soft, I had them at the middle and was still too bumpy.

when i did a member on the board's coilovers i had the exact same problem. pass rear shock bolt didn't give way. I had my compressor fully on and my IR 2135ti is not a weak gun. puts out a burst of 1000ft/lb of reverse torque. Ended up spraying break-away and just working it slowly with a breaker bar. I started with that side and gave up to do the others and then came back to it. It came off, after 45 minutes.

I sprayed some PB liquid wrench stuff on it yesterday. I'll do it a few more times during the week and see if I can figure something out this weekend. I wish I knew someone that could do the install, instead of having to try and book the shop again.

Thanks,

it really is not that hard. its really easy for the rears. most people their first try would take an hour each side. and later when they get used to it can knock it out in 10-20minutes pending tools.

you need 1 floor jack, 2 jackstands. 12mm for the 2 top shock bolts. a 17mm wrench and 17mmsocket and a ratchet to get everything off. Well and the obvious get the tire off.

Only thing right now you need to battle is that bolt, which means you need to buy a long breaker bar. Or take some pills and turn into the HULK.

How is the camber turning out on these? Have any of you gone to camber kits?

Few pic with the BC's on. I did a very conservative drop alot of speed bumps in NYC. But I need a bigger spacer in the front. I gotta decide what size.

The ride quality is pretty good but the handleing is crazy. This is the by far the best investment I have made on my G so far.

Here's a few pics. Gotta take some better ones this weekend
