No sweat, this is a great site, with friendly and helpful people. You've got many options to drop your G, both OEM and aftermarket, from ½" to 2+". Thanks to Flying Lumpia, we also finally have a front coilover option.

Thanks everyone in advance for comments and suggestions.
its a give and take situation, lowering will alway compromise ride and geomtery. like everything else in life, its a push/pull thing.

There are cheap options out there and then there are higher end stuff.

I have g35coupe springs for sale, they lower .5 all around just about. Do some research and let me know if you want them. A .5 will not be much but if you got you X because you live in a snow climate you should be able to drive thru the winter without swapping out. I'm on the coilover list so i'm going for a massive drop =)

finally got my wheels and springs on. 04 350z springs on the front and stock on the back due to heavy subs. probably get smaller sub and coupe springs on the rear.

I've got an 05' "x" and just purchased some coupe 18's and want to run either a 235/45 or 245/45 tire. This car needs lowered in the worst way. My question is for those running either Eibachs or H&R's do you feel that they dropped you to much? My concern is that this is my wife's daily driver so I don't want a spring that is going to lower it to much. Do you clear speed bumps ok? Or hit parking blocks with the front end? Also with a 245 tire and a drop with the coupe 18's +30 offset will the fenders need rolled? Sorry for all the noob questions I've read through this thread allot and got allot of good info but still had some questions.

Thanks allot
Joe

P.S. I live in Colorado so she will have to drive it in the snow.

I live in snow country too, so I'm not going to drop my X more than ½"-1" total. Here's a side shot of mine with 245/45-18's on Coupe 18's, stock suspension.

I measured the tire gap with new tires on stock suspension, and there's 1.875" in the back and 2.5" in the front. I'm going to drop mine with Sedan Sport springs in the back and Coupe springs in the front. Should give me about ½" drop in the back and 1" in the front, and should make the tire gaps almost even (1.375" R and 1.5" F). I don't want anything more than that because of the winter driving and I don't want to buy a camber kit. If you drop too far, you'll have to roll for sure. My fronts are just a tad ouside the wheel well.

BTW, get 245/45's. There's a far better selection of tires available. 235/45 is an odd size. I went with Bridgestone RE760 Sports, but they're only for summer. I have Nokian WR G2's on my stock 17's for winter.

if that is the case, then dont drop it at all. in chicago weather, stock height my underbody is hitting the snow in most small street and alleys. with the drop of 1 inch i will not like it much at all. Yea we have wheel gap but some reason this car sits lower stock then others... like my 4th gen maxima dropped on 1.25inchs the underbody is still higher then my stock G35x.

dont drop it because its your wife's car and she needs it for the snow. having 2 sets of suspension makes sense. I will not be drive a lowered G in the snow

Hey all, I am a noob when it comes to this stuff, so bare with me please. I think I am going to need to lower my 05x sedan. I just ordered rims and tires 3 days ago and they should be here soon. Here is the setup I will have 20x8.5 all way around tires 245-35-20 +35 Offset. I want to just close some of the gap I will have and still have a decent ride. (I understand 20's will be a little more firm) Im not looking to have my tires chewed up or a lot of rubbing as this is an everyday driver for me. I am assuming coilovers are the best setup now that they are availible for the x. I guess I just need your guys thoughts on this and what would be the best setup. Would there be anything else I would need other than the coilvers? I have done a ton of reading on this particular thread, so my knowledge has gotten a little better, but 87 pages lol whoa........

thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll wait and see how she looks after I get the new wheels painted and on. If it were just me driving it I wouldn't hesitate but with her and our new little girl the last thing I need is for her to get stuck just cause I wanted our car to look better. Our winters here are pretty mild, but every now and than we get dropped on. Our last car was really low (Mazdaspeed 3) never had any problems after I in stalled a good set of winter tire on it. With this one being AWD I don't think I'm gonna go that rout, just gonna get some good allseason's. So officialy has anyone measured their car before and after to see just how much drop they get from either of these? I just gotta know.

Thanks again.

Joe

I suggest reading the whole thread. It might take a few sessions, but it's worth it. And yes, it's frickin' huge. If you get coilovers, you may need front and rear camber kits. And you don't NEED to lower it, you WANT to lower it.

BTW, are you in Middletown? I went to school in Oxford.

Oh yeah man, I NEED to lower it. You can't just get a g35 with rims and leave it stock! By law, you have to lower it lol. I have read most of the thread, but I haven't found out how these new coilovers are working yet. I know a few have placed orders for them, but not sure how they are treating any1 yet. And I would still need a camber kit even If I purchased the x coilovers? Oh and M-town is Marion, north of columbus. God, I'm a noob.

Ok, i answered my own question at a totally different thread. Odds are I won't need a camber kit because i am not going for a super aggressive drop.

i'll have a set of koni adjustable shocks for the front available once i put these coils on.

only 1 problem. one of the koni is blown. so it would have to go back to koni and looking at an additional 150-200 to fix the shock.

if anyone interested hit with a PM and i'll explain more. i'll get rid of the shocks pretty cheap considering how much i paid for them.
