Why 298hp...why not 300?

Ok, so you can buy a manual G35 sedan that puts out 298hp. Any reason why they didn't make it an even 300hp? I'm not saying they should have for additional power or anything, but to me saying 300 sounds better than 298. Ahh who knows.

Just think that it has 300, most of the advertised numbers are wrong anyway.

Because the 300 would really convince people that Infiniti was lying about the power increase compared to 6mt non rev-up engines.

Why does everything in the supermarket is 5.99 or 1.99 or .99...Why can't they just round it up? It's Marketing...When you talk to people you say i have almost 300 Horse power...People go wow!!! They think 300 is a lot of HP...

But for the supermarkets, $5.99 or $5.98 just sounds cheaper than $6.00, which is good. But for cars, I think people would much rather hear 300 hp instead of 298 hp...

so true. being that i work part time marketing and advertising for News America Mktg, alot of the things we put up are like gas prices, where its 2.14 and 9/10ths.... but when you sell 10, it actually comes out even....

no clue though overall though for the companies reasons. another could be insurance. like the srt-4 was rated at 215, when it really put down near 240 whp (237). i mean why 300 even, why not 301?

In japan the GTR and Supra have to down play their HP because of emissions...Maybe Nissan is so used to doing that and also they are doing it for emission reasons. Like a EVO with 300 + HP is still classified as a sedan not a sports car believe it or not but i'm off subject.. I dunno 303 hp sounds funny to me. I rather say 320 or 350...

The vacuum I clean my car with has 4 horsepower... I love Home Depot.

And this has nothing to do with anything.

Do what I do. Just tell people you have 300 hp and be done with it.

I actually thought it was supposed to be 300 originally, but was changed because of the new SAE ratings.
