Yet Another Satisfied Popcharger/z-tube/spacer Customer

Well I finally got my Popcharger, z-tube, and MD 1/2 inch spacer installed, and I couldn't be happier.

I don't what portion of my happiness can be attributed to each mod since they all went on at the same time, but the combo definitely works well.

At idle, and up to about 3500 rpms, the car sounds and feels pretty much the way it did before. There's a little more growl, but it's not really noticable, particularly with the windows up. Above 3500 rpms however, it's a completely different car. The growl gets louder until it really starts to wail just before redline. It sounds absolutely fantastic. There also to appears to be a little more pull up high in the rev range. It's so hard to be sure given that the additional sound makes it 'feel' like you're going faster, but I'm trying to be objective.

The sucking sound associated with the intake is also pretty cool. It seems to only be noticable when you initially get on the gas (at any rpm), but it's cool when I get to hear it.

I got all the parts from other members here, so a very special thanks them.

Nice to hear from a happy modder. I know exactly what you mean about the sound as I have almost the same set up. You will notice over time the car will perform much better. Now you just need the exhaust to even out the sound.

Sweet! Congrats on the new mods man. Time for you gas mileage to go down a bit, since you're right foot will be happy .

Did you lose any low end torque with the intake?

Thanks everyone.

My right foot is definitely happy. On the way to work this morning, I found myself launching quite quickly just to hear the sound. I also had a great time in the parking garage (lots of echo!).

Chico, i think i'm out of money for this summer, but next summer i'm thinking exhaust, BBK, and d-specs. I keep telling myself i'll do mods instead of buying a new car... we'll see how that works out.

I don't feel like I've lost any low end torque, but then again, I'm not sure how sensitive my butt dyno is...
