maybe some of you have seen this:

306 hp for the 2007 g35 sedan. 2007 coupe drops to 293 hp + 258 ft-lbs and 275 hp + 268 ft-lbs for auto (due to new SAE ratings).

pretty disappointing and pathetic. 306 HP only matches the IS350. damn infiniti...

306 under the new SAE ratings is probably around 315+ under the old system so I don't think it's that disappointing. A pretty nice jump if you ask me for the same displacement.

Why is the 07 sedan have more hp and torque than the 07 coupe? Is it because the new coupe won't be out until 08? Is this correct?

So, with the new ratings, the current sedan AT drops to 275 as well? That's fine, this car is fast enough for me, even if it "loses" 5 hp.

Are you sure about that? I thought I just read that dealers are expecting the MSRP of the upcoming GTR to be $80,000. Then, they are building less than 1,000 of them in the 1st model year. Can you imagine what kind of premiums the Dealers are going to command for the GTR.

You'll be lucky to get one for $100,000.

I am looking forward to the '08 Coupe. My '05 will be traded in most definitely.

Yeah, but when you lay into the throttle, it will make your girlfriend's face do this.

I'm happy with that rating. I just got done with all the bolt-ons on my car, so I should be able to keep up with the new cars until the first intakes and exhausts come out. I'm in no rush to have to get the latest model just to keep up power-wise.

I figured they would at least beat the IS350 by a few hp. I was going to guess ~310.
