Duhhhh. Pay attention to what you're doing and your problem is solved. You asked and answered your own question in the first post. What support are you looking for? if you're looking for someone to powder your bottom, you came to the wrong place..

check out this explanation on how a manual tranmission works:

My best guess is the dog teeth are not meshing up right and just missing their contact points... worst case (I would think) would be to loose a tooth.

"Loose" a tooth? Must restrain...

Not for nothing, but I've been driving manuals for 9 years (I'm 31) and I still have trouble with my G at times. I've driven plenty of different mt's out there including my ex boss' S2K for 3 mos. and don't find this tranny to be that great in the shifting arena, especially for my '04. I know that the '05-'06 got much better. I even complained to the dealer about my tranny grinding into 5th gear WITH THE CLUTCH ALL THE WAY DOWN.
I drive an '05 Toyota RAV4 daily and it is MUCH easier to shift (although not as fun) than my G. Anyone else having shifting issues?

I'm with you Nismo. I generally don't have a problem (I think I've only ground the gears about 7 or 8 times in nearly four years), but it feels like having your teeth pulled every time it happens. Like everybody else has said, you (Bythebay) need to focus on not getting distracted first. But I have heard from users on this forum and from service techs at the dealership that 3rd gear in the 6MT's has been problematic from the beginning. I was talking about this problem with my service manager awhile back, and he confirmed that almost everyone has complained about shifting into third at some point or another when they were in for service. I think he said something about the syncros (?) not being the greatest and that they had changed out a few under powertrain warranty to fix the problem.
