I have 2k5 6spd. I only use premium fuel. I am getting a clicking sound when at idle after driving. ie. at a light and clicking sound from underneath. It also goes on after I shut the car down. Any ideas what might be causing this sound?

 

I got pinging noise too..but just on start up..

You're hearing the expanision/contraction of the metal exhaust components. You're not hearing detonation or such because that only occurs under heavy load situations.

 

Do I have to worry about it?

 

It's probably the injectors you are hearing. It's normal.

 

I get a clicking sound too. Usually just when going slow. Don't get it at idle. It's often very rythmic and reminds me of a light tapping of something metal on a concete floor, usually about one every 2 seconds.

I figure I'm not going to worry about it. It's not a sound that to me sounds like somethings going to break or metal is rubbing against metal very fast, and I don't notice any performance issues.

 

It's the metal in the exhaust piping contracting/expanding. Every car I've owned does this.
