hot air from foot vent

[2006 G35X base model]
Anyone else getting hot air pumped under their dash (ie: foot vent).
If I turn off the fan and have the outside air coming in the foot vent always pumps hot air out as if I am getting all the air directly from the engine and not outside.

Ideally I just want the fresh, clean, cool air streaming to my piggies from the foot vent. Not the hot air from some mystical place that makes my feet sweat.

Also, running the A/C just to avoid this seems extreme.

Anyone else had this problem?

Yes. Did you install anything aftermarket like sub woofer, headunit, speakers or anything that needed power wire running inside the car out the battery?

I have the same think but not always. ONly when I have been running the car all day.

i installed a PAC ipod kit to the stereo.
this does not hook up to anything but the back of the stereo and uses the
power from there.

There is another thread on this board about this issue which I too was happy to come across because I thought it was a problem with my 2003 sedan, but as it turns out this is a common issue with some cars. I am not sure if it common in all of them. It does get very warm as if the heat is coming directly off of the engine. Not good when you add in the fact that it is already 90+ degrees here in PA to begin with. Might come in handy in January but bothers me a little right now. Be nice if there is a simple way to fix this.

Still love this damn car anyway.

*went and found the other thread for you: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/106304-heat-footwells.html
