Checking Oil
Re: Checking Oil
Keep the oil bottles or 5 qt jug the new oil came in to transport the old oil. Or do what I do, I keep a couple of plastic gallon juice bottles in the garage. Any Advance/Discount Auto, Pep Boys, AutoZone will accept the old oil for recycling... been giving them my crud and sludge for he last 10 years.

Re: Checking Oil
Chinee,
I guess I am just getting old, I used to always do this myself, felt the same way you do now about having it done, but after years of skinned knuckles, cleaning up oil, hauling it off etc, I rather enjoy having someone else do it. I also have a bad leg, (Navy disability) and that used to be something that was hard for me to do, I will see how the dealer does, I always took my previous car, (Mustang GT) to the Ford dealer, never had a problem with them, they had a FastLube, but of course, no car wash! I like the way you do it though!

Re: Checking Oil
I was checking the oil one time and having failed to get the dipstick in, yanked it out again and it caught in that stupid sheet metal guide and bent it. I had to remove the guide and have left it off. but you really need a flashlight to hit the hole.
