Don't get me wrong, I completely agree about rotating the tires. I take responsibility there, it just slipped my mind. I've never neglected any of my cars. Oil is always changed every 5K with synthetic etc. The point is, the dealer was completely rude, and I believe the tires were defective. When paying ~37K for a car, I expect it to have no problems like this. Our Audi S4 tires lasted 40K miles without any problems, and that car is a lot more powerful. The tires on our Nissan Maxima have approx. 30K miles on them with decent life left. So the point is, its unnacceptable for a car's tires to last only 15K regaurdless of whether or not they were rotated.

He may be right, on my '04, the Turanza's still had a lot of tread left on them at almost 19k, maybe he did get a bad set.

All good stuff in here...

05 G35 takes responsibilty for his failure to rotate and I agree...he got lucky to find a dealer to throw Michelin Pilots of all things on...

I recently picked up a G35 Sedan, Sport Suspension, 18" rims, etc. I'm a huge Michelin fan and currently have the OE Bridgestone Turanzas on there. They seem OK but because I've been a big fan of Michelins I've only bought Michelins for my cars for many years now.

Are the Michelin Pilots the best Michelin choice for these 18" wheels? Anyone change the size of the tires away from the OE size?

My wants from a tire are a combination of quiet, good tire life and performance...all about equally important.

So what are the best Michelins for our Gs based on your experiences? Thanks!

I first told that to a dentist friend I have--she makes very good money and is too busy to rotate and ruins her tires prematurely. I always ask--have you rotated your tires---NO and she complains that I always get on her for that.

I finally told her-----Don't hate, rotate!!! Made her laugh--and now she rotates.

btw--congrats on 11 grand post count

Apparently not, he knew you are supposed to rotate tires.

if the camber was out of spec on the rear, you should have noticed the inside of your tires being worn long before 15k. also, you have yet to deny that you don't do burnouts and drive the car hard. and as far as you s4, those cars are four wheel drive and are pretty much impossible to wear out a set of rears on them.
