Chip in windshield. what do I do?

Chip in windshield. what do I do?
While I was zipping too fast on the parkway, a small pebble hit smack in the middle of my windshield. It didn't crack and I hope it doesn't. there is a very small chip on the outside of the windshield. Is there anything I can or should do to the chip or just leave it.
I have had small cracks repaired and was very happy in previous cars. but since there isn't a crack i thought this wouldn't matter. Or can I get a chip repaired to prevent future damage?

I would fix it before it has a chance to spread. Temperature changes can be enough to do so.
Probably cost $30-40, though some insurance companies will cover this expense, even if below the deductible, because it is cheaper than a new windshield.

I also had one fixed last year. My insurance (AAA) paid the bill, a sit was alo t less expensive than replacing the windshield. Still holding up fine. I had a guy come to my office and fix it in the parking lot. He applied some form of epoxy, and 'sanded' it smooth. You can still see it, but it didn't spread.
Make sure, however, that it isn't in your line of sight, as light will refract off it.

If you can cover it with a quarter, you can often have it repaired so that it is ~95% invisible. The repair involves drilling a small hole through it, applying a vacuum to one side and filling it with a compound that dries to a TIR value similar to glass.
My insurance (State Farm) pays 100% for cracked windshields. I'd check your insurance and see if they do the same. If so, maybe wait until it starts to crack. If it doesn't, have it repaired.
