06 headlights how to..

hey i was wondering how to..

i have a 03 sedan and I have 06 coupe headlights and i wanted to test them outside of the car. does anyone in this section know how to do that? if not can i just take my headlight out and plug in play the coupe lights in just to see if they work properly. thanks.

yeah i know they wont fit i just wanted to plug them into my car just to test them not replace my lights with them.

are you trying to test the ballasts or bulbs.

ohh wait..you cant the 06 coupe is a low and high beam hid. so you cant.. sorry bud

I'm not sure with just looking at the unit. but if you can find the schematics or wiring diagram it would help. Good luck!

yea you can test it there 2 wire a black or brown one and a red one or orange the dark one is ground and the light one is 12+ so just touch the battery with them and you'll see if they work

Make sure and put a fuse on your test wire because if you are wrong with the wire color you could burn out the bulb, ballast or both.

so i have a green and gray wire going to the bulb and the ballast so all i have to do is cut the gray wire and touch it to the battery terminal using a fuse? thanks

unplug yours if you have HID and just plug'em in. I have used several plugs off of Coupes and sedans on the vice versa. It will work.

I would not mess around with splicing wires on ballasts, too much voltage to be "testing" with IMO.
