Need new tires for stock wheels

Will these 235/45/17's fit good on my 05 Sedan or will they be too low profile?

235/50/17 is what the tire rack recommeds for the widest...but some members are running 245/45/17 on stock rims with no issues.

They only have those tires in 235/45/17, I know they will fit fine width wise but will they be too low profile is the question? The stock tires are 215/55/17...

Not really interested in new wheels, the G35 is my daily driver. Are the 235/45/17 tires actually taller than the stock 215/55/17 tires? Someone help me out!

someone correct me if i am wrong but the way the math work is...
the 215 or 235 is the width of the tire
the profile, (the 45, 55, etc.) is actually a percentage of the width so...

215 X 55% = 118.25 mm

and

235 X 45% = 105.75 mm

so in fact they would be significantly (11%) shorter in the sidewall than the factories, and if it is your daily you will probably notice a change in the ride and handling characteristics.

at least i think that is rigtht someone else feel free to chime in and confirm or correct!

if ur on stock suspension, I woudln't recommend it because the car is going to have a clown like look, but if not, u can get away with it with some handling characteristics worsening or getting better, depending on ur suspension setup.
