ALUMINUM PEDALS

I JUST ORDERED A GAS AND BRAKE ALUMINUM PEDAL FROM MY INFIT DEALER... THE BRAKE WENT ON VERY EASY . BUT THE GAS DIDNT WORK, SEEMS I NEED A BUSHING AND CLIP WHICH I WILL ORDER. ALSO THERE IS A 3 INCH PLASTIC ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF THE STOCK PEDAL WHICH I WILL NOT HAVE, WITH THE NEW PEDAL.
http://www.smiley.net/g35/pedals.htm

THIS PART IS ACCTUALLY PART OF THE BAR THAT HOLDS THE PEDAL ON THE COUPE, AS THE SITE SHOWS US....

WILL INSTALLING THE NEW PEDAL WITHOUT THE EXTRA PART CAUSE A PROBELM???

HAS ANYONE WITH THE SEDAN DONE THIS INSTALL?? PLEASE HELP AND THANKS FOR READIN ALL THIS...

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS

You won't need the plastic piece on the back for the new gas pedal. I have them on my Sedan with no problem, I ordered the bushing and clip, but you don't need too you can cut the clip of the old pedal and use a piece of rubber to make a bushing. Any way I had to put some black tape at the end of the gas bar because the new bush was loosen.
Well good luck on your installation.
I bought them on www.courtesyparts.com and paid 66.00 plus shipping for the 5 parts dead pedal, brake pedal, gas pedal clip and bushing
www.nissanparts.cc have them for 59.00 and 7.95 of shipping.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS

If you need just the bushing and the clip you can get them from www.wholesaleinfinitiparts.com. Click on G35 at the top and then go to interior accessories. I got my kit there and the bushing and clip were included but you can get just the clip and bushing from them as well. The install was pretty easy and I think they look cool on the sedan!:

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS

I installed aluminum pedals last night (my second time doing this since the first car was totalled) and I cannot stress enough how important it is to heat up the clutch and brake pedal covers using a heat gun prior to attempting the install.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS

Yea, that's a good point. I used a hair dryer, as I had no heat gun, but softening up the hard rubber on the pedals really helps to get them on.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS

My assumption is that the brake and clutch are anti skid because the rubber actually pretrudes above the holes and causes an anti slip feeling, on the gas pedal they probably think that you always have your foot against the side wall, thus preventing it from slipping.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS

The reason why they leave rubber on the clutch and brake pedals is to prevent your foot from slipping off. You never really put much pressure on the gas and if you are 'heel and toeing' you need the slip. Imagine the lawsuits if anyones foot slipped off the brake pedal duing a stop!!!
In a lot of race cars there is no rubber on any pedal. The racing shoes have the nonskid soles....

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS

I put the FORD aluminum pedals on my 2001 cobra, and they were a BITCH. But I put these on my sedan, and I had them all on in about 10 minutes, including the brake (and I didn't heat it). The key to that one is to put the top part on first, then work the lower two corners. They are flexible, unlike the rest of the pedal. I didn't use a screwdriver either. Just pull up on the two rubber flaps and that's it.
