GroundingGear Installation Advice\Pics

After reading about Gordee GroundingGear I finally decided to give it a try, I just receive my G35 5AT 10-wire performance series and the HEPA filter.

I’m planning to install them this weekend and I was wondering if the guys that install them already have some advice or pictures that will help me with my installation.

I believe Gordee provides instructions with pics.

Nice job!! Excellent pictures
Did you have any problem with water leaking into the car? do you know the proper torque for the bolts?

Just make sure you do the install on a cold engine and use a torque wrench. Follow the instructions and you'll be happy.

I don't have any problems with water leakage. The most important part is to completely wrap the grommet that goes through the firewall with electrical tape to prevent water from going into the hole that you made while feeding the wire to the ECU. I actually did two layers of electrical tape b/c I didn't want to risk leakage. As for the proper torque, I just tightened it by hand without a torque wrench. Be careful not to over tighten as you will strip bolts and be screwed. The bolt that holds down like five wires and the stock ground wires on the front of the engine, be especially careful of this bolt. Without that bolt there, you won't be able to start the car

The only issues I had were when installing the transmission wire underneath and the ECU,TCU wires. Once Gordgee sent a couple of additional pics, I got it done. I recommend doing the cabin air filter replacement while the glove box is off too.
