Question Equivalent In-Cabin Filter?

I ordered a paper in-cabin filter for my 2004 G35 AWD from Infiniti-Parts.com. The one they sent came in a Nissan box (not really unexpected) but it had a different part # then what I saw in the DIY threads. The one I received was part # 999M1-VP051. The part # I was expecting was B727A-79925. The filter looks like some of the pictures but it doesn't look like some of the other ones. I really don't feel like pulling things apart and finding out its the wrong filter.

The paperwork with the one I received says its for a 2002+ Altima or Sentra, nothing about a G35.

Does anybody know if the 2 part #s are equivalent or if one replaced the other?
  • I did send an email to the vendor asking why the different part # and all I got back was that the one they sent me was the correct one. No explanation as to why the difference.
  • Well, I went ahead and changed the filter today. Whatta ya' know? The one I pulled out (which was installed by the dealer last year) was labeled with the same P/N as what Infiniti-Parts.com sent me (999M1-VP051). I guess the DIY instructions are out-of-date.
Oh and the filter was pretty cruddy after about 15 months and almost 30K miles. Must be that clean Philly air!

They might be the same but one is more $$ since it is for the G!

I saw that when I was looking for an oem flywheel. They have a nissan part number for the 350Z and a different part number for the G that is $200 more! Even the parts department and the dealer told me they are exactly the same...
