2nd Owner

Runs great.

Changed both accessory belts.
Changed the high pressure A/C line (one of the belts came apart and ripped through the line).
Changed the battery.
Switched to double-din when the radio/AC board when bad. (common).
Changed a lot of oil and some tires.

This car owes me nothing.

Slightly modified.
JWT Pop-charger
Z-tube
Plenum spacer
Coupe mid-pipe
Megan Racing y-pipe
Air ride suspension (car literally sits on the ground tucking wheels).
19" wheels. 235/35/19 tires.
Kinetix Front/Rear adjustable upper control arm, toe rods, traction rods.

Pretty common, but mostly affects 2003's.

Basically the HVAC and radio circuit board is combined, and it fails leaving the radio inoperable (except for the steering wheel controls) and the HVAC controls also inoperable and stuck on a temp setting/mode.

Basically you need to restart the car to "reset" it but it comes back. The fix is to separate the HVAC and radio by using a double din setup and installing an aftermarket DD radio.

Like i said, common on '03...not so much on 04 and later years. But it does happen. My '06 did this ONCE and it never happened again

But anyway, glad to see people are getting up in miles and surviving. I do a ton of highway miles, and due to some property investments won't be buying new cars every 2-3 years like i did through my 20's...so the G35 has to last me til the wheels fall off. I feel better with threads like this.

Interesting, randomly every now & then my climate control will change from "auto" to "manual" mode defrost w/ the AC then turning on by itself....is this the SAME issue? It's almost as if the car is haunted. Again, only happens randomly and I only need to change it back to auto (don't need to restart the car).

^Is it randomly, without being touched, or when you adjust it? On 04.5 and newer, if you cycle through top vents/bi-lev/feet/etc... everytime you pass defog, it will turn the ac back on.

Randomly, w/out being touched.

^Hmmm, idk. That's a new one on me
Then again, the radio/hvac controls in these cars are prone to all sorts of random glitches, so it doesn't really surprise me.

2003 Sedan

149,xxx

Runs better than my buddy's mom '03 with 88k :-/

I bought it at auction with the radio/HVAC issue and fixed it with an aftermarket dash piece with new climate control buttons and a single DIN Pioneer radio

My 03.0 has *only* 109K and running great. My cousin bought an '04 to use at his body shop as a parts car...256K miles!!!! It had been t-boned, but they drove it around the lot and it still ran perfectly.

This thread isnt fair for us newer model g35s. It would be difficult for us to top what high milage u 2003's have.
I have 45K miles on a 2006, Im the second owner and the way I drive my car I think the engine will explode at ~100k miles.
Whats high milage for an 06?

what does "fair" have to do with it? what a rediculous statement. the thread is about vehicles with (in theory) increasing high mileage. as in, each post should be higher mileage than the previous. if a "newer model" owner happened to drive further than the current high mileage, then they are welcome to post. the thread is bias towards those with high mileage, not specifically those with older models.
