Cool Supercharged

-I'm am very sure this is an age old question that has been fully answered many times before. unfortunately i wasn't around and missed it. SO for me and my education I'll bring it up again. I hope for some detailed answers...
I have descided to keep the G and go all out on it. When I come back to home for duty 3 years from now I will get a new daily driver. In the mean time this Gen 1 is about to get overhauled. 07 is gonna be a big year.
-Of my 3 options in SC i like the stillen, basically because i just like haveing all one name brand. everything in my car is stillen already so it only makes sence. plus i don't really mind gettin the hood. I don't know much about the kinetix. As for the Vortech I know that's a good SC. My main question is how do the 2 compare as superchargers.
-NOTE: IN ADDITION TO VOTING PLEASE DROP A REPLY TO EXPLAIN WHY YOU MADE THE CHOISE YOU DID.

I think the Vortech would be the best because you don't have to change out your hood to fit the Stillen. However, thats just my opinion. If I go FI I will probably go with a turbo.

Out of the 3 if you worry about waranty and the such.. go with Stillen. If you don't care so much, get the Vortech. Both are Carb legal. Haven't read too much on Kinetix.. maybe that's a good thing for you? lol

Turbo= headaches and lots of $$$, Vortech= High risk, Stillen= solid performance.. Vortech although is a more powerful supercharger then Stillen, I still don’t think it’s as reliable or as good for our cars as Stillen.. I Like centrifugal blowers way more then roots blowers but you just can't trust any other blower for our cars then Stillen...

Being that I've expereienced both first hand on my previous vehicles, Any type of forced induction is risky, some may be more than others. If you decide to go turbo DO NOT use the Greddy Turbo Kit. The E-Manage computer can only be tuned to certain limits. The Turbonetics kit is one of the best on the market as well as the HKS. But for an everyday driver a turbo kit could be the difference between the life and death of your vq. As for the superchargers, Stillen is good but having to change the hood seems like the supercharger was not 100% built for the car. The ProCharger is good as well as the Vortech . I personally love the Vortech because of it's blower style and high power output. As far as warranty issues any type of forced induction will void your warranty unless the product is either purchased and installed by a dealer .

HKS also has the Rotrex supercharger. It comes tuned out of the box like Stillen without the hood.

The Stillen and Vortech are two completely different types of kits. The Stillen kit has a powerband just like stock but ~40% higher. The vortech makes bigger numbers but has lag so it will be like your car now until 3,000-3,500rpm and then it becomes a monster. It all comes down to what kind of driving you do and the type of performance you want.

There are tons of threads about this with pages of details you should read first before you make a choice. It's a lot of money to spend without research of your own.

To Hi-Tech's point about warranty - I know that Inskip Infiniti in Warwick, RI installs Turbo's and Superchargers and warrantees the work. They even have a Stillen display.

like ttrank said... the stillen charger will give you more torque right off the get go (for quicker acceleration) while the vortech doesn't get there until about 3-4000 rpm but then it really gets going. The vortech puts out more horsepowere at the top end. A Greddy twin turbo puts out the most hp.

That being said.... the stillen stage 1 or 2 (not sure) puts up the same quarter mile time as the greddy and is just a tenth of a second behind the vortech. So if you were to go for a stage 3 or 4 stillen then you will blow all those away. Unless someone has a revamped engine and a tuned twin turbo you will smoke them. Especially off the line. One problem some people have had is losing traction off the line with the stillen supercharger because there is so much torque at 1000 rpm. Hope that helps.

I would go with stillen. They specialize in the g and 350z.
