It rattles I think, could be the engine though.

Not sure if this was for sedans or for coupes, but here it goes. My tranny is all good, but it rattles a tiny bit. I was told by Infiniti that a little bit of rattling is inherent on the 6MT design. However, if you have other rattling there is another source. Some of the cars come off the line with not enough grease on the rear axle for the rear wheel drive. When there is not enough grease you hear the rattle. Apparantly they can tighten things up and re-lube it. This was a big problem on the 03's, and apparantly Infiniti corrected the problem in subsequent years, but there are always going to be exceptions. Mine being one of them. So, before you thing that rattle might be your tranny, ask about the rear axle since it is a definite possiblity. Best be is to have one of the Infiniti mechanics ride shotgun with you and point it out to them when you hear it. If you just hand the car over they are going to say they could not replicate what you were talking about....aka they do not want to take the time and figure it out since it is going to cost them to fix it.

For those of you that had tranny problems....what was the problem and was it fixed under warranty or did you have to dig deep into your pockets to get??? things right

My throw out bearing makes noise... But i think it's normal for the stock clutch... My friends G makes the same noise... When i drive hard it really gets noticable...

23K miles, no problems.

Rattling comes from the clutch. It's normal.

No Problems

2005 sedan 6mt 26k miles no tranny warranty issues.
Knock on Wood!

Rough to engage if trying to go slow at start. I have always driven standard shift so I'm not a newbie.
Clutch has high takeup so difficult to have consistently smooth starts unless I am trying to get on it. It almost seems to be rougher after rain or high humidity days. Other times it is smooth as silk.

Anyone find difficulty in smooth engagement?

I do, it is just because it engages so damn high
