Well maybe thats what I heard. The engine being pushed to its limit thus causing that hissing crunchy noise.

Either way, SMG or engine, it didnt sound like it was good for the car.

On Monday night, my cousins friend raced his M3 against his friends CLK55. Kid in the M3 lost control and died. The two passengers are in critical condition, 1 has a broken back and other I think has a broken pelvis.

On Sunday night, the night before, a kid I went to high school with had his dads Porsche, he was goin to fast, lost control, hit a tree and died.

Sorry, did not feel like starting a new thread for this, just thought it was more interesting in a racing thread. It is fun to race, but I think I won't be doin it anymore at all unless I am at the track. Just seems to easy to die.

I own both an '05 coupe 6mt and an MZ4 6sp manual which is slightly quicker than an M3 coupe. But still for those who think a bolt-on G35 coupe is going to hang or beat an M3, it ain't gonna happen. Not evenn close, sorry.

A lot of G35/350Z owners go test-drive the M3 and think it's slow because they nail the throttle at 2~3k RPM, and the car slowly accelerates and makes them think the car's a slug. That's because the S54 engine does not have a lot of torgue. The M3/MZ4 in a way behaves a lot like the S2000; you need to rev the RPM up to 5k to really start feeling the power. When the G35 hits the redline at about7k and needs to shift, the M3 still has another 1k RPM's to go.

The M3 ain't really that fast... my roommate got a 04 M3 SMG... and i have a 04 6MT sedan with intake plenum and custom catback... i beat him once by a little and loss to him once by about half of the car length from the stop...

M3 are really nice... but they ain't really that quick..

I am going to see him today I will get a video, you listen to the gears and him shifting 0-70 I was right with him we never went above that. I know he can drive this is the same argument I get from everyone else. We have owned many sports cars and raced at track many times I know he can drive just like I know I can. I have been to skip barber and drive all over the southeast he has been to the same schools as me to include the panoz at road atlanta. The car is no god have some faith in your car for a chance maybe it is you who can't drive.

I have nothing else to argue on. I hope people on this forum who know me in real life can give their input about "me not knowing how to drive" comment,

my brother "lost control" of his M3 CSL in miami. him and his good friend were both ejected and my bro died instantly, his friend survived thank god....they estimated "impact" at 118mph (he had 15" brembos) and his car rolled and spun srcaping the asphalt for over 700ft....seeing his compacted M3 at the impound was the most unbelieveable thing ive ever seen. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE SHYT DOES HAPPEN and can happen to anybody!
