G35 sedan v. G35 coupe

Heh heh, Last night I am merging onto the Hutchinson River Parkway North, I was casually driving for a change, accelerating very gradually when low and behold those unique tailights crossed my radar, silver G35 coupe which is moving quite rapidly in the left lane. Being the big kid I am, I say to myself oh boy an opportunity for fun!!!

Well of course I gave chase, this guy knew his car by the way he smoothly changed lanes and I was quickly reminded how fast a coupe accelerates. But I'm no slouch either so I proceeded to stay in his AS$. He made a nice lane change right b4 the highway became two lanes and was gone. Well i saw an opening, down shifted to 3rd gear at 65 and reeled home boy in (I only caught him because he was behind a slow driver.) Well nothing much happened,he got off the next exit, but he clearly saw my tailights as he exited. Call me whatever you want this SEDAN was "representin"

This car is so much fun and because I don't see too many of them I get excited when I do.

The sad thing is that it's entirely possible that the other driver had no idea that your cars were even related.

Heaven forbid Zimbo, tell me all that was for naught. Can it be that Coupe drivers do not know the sedan. Nawww our rearlights are the signature of our cars at night.

Surely he saw the front of your car while you were chasing him. That's too much of a similarity for the uneducated to ignore.

I often wonder if 350Z owners realize their cars are based on the same platform too. I bet some don't.

Re: G35 sedan v. G35 coupe

I was talking to the typical Z owner the other day at the gas station the other day. You know the guy big muscles (overweight) Hair Club For Men membership card hanging on one of his gold chain necklaces. As he was grunting and groaning to get his over musclar body out of the car I asked him how he liked his Z. My silver 6 speed sedan was right in fron of him at the pump. He's going on and on about how he has this and that on the Z and how it is so fast. So I said "Yeah I looked at the Z and decided I wanted room for clients and family so I opted for the G35 Sedan and went for the 6 speed". He doesn't skip a beat and continues to say how great his Z is. This I have found is pretty typical of these guys (Z owners). Well I left but I waited for him to leave. I followed him to the stop light. It was red, it was mid morning, not much traffic, so I pull up along side and rev the ol' sedan up. He looks at me and laughs, he revs and waves me off. The light turned green both of us take off. He has the auto so I smoked him. It wasn't even close. He must suck at driving because he was truly trying and he was never even close to me. The only stuff I have done to the sedan is Stillen exhaust and intake and Eibachs, that's it. He caught up at the next light and wouldn't even look at me. It looked like his hair transplant had fallen out of place. Z owners beware of the almighty G35 6 speed sedan S.

So what you are that little faster? This muscle man couldn't do it doesn't mean other Z owners couldn't smoke you.

I couldn't agree more. It's just that this guy needed some humbling. I have to retract one thing I said about "Z" owners not all of them are like this. I have two good friends who own Z's. On of them owns a 6MT and he can take me in a race. He has been driving in SCCA for years and his driving skills are better than mine. So yes I agree it is truly a drivers race.
