Noise when brakes are applied

Hey there,

I have a 2003.5 sedan 5AT... When I'm in D and I come to a stop, there's a noise that sounds like something vibrating or pulsing but it's not in the pedal. It sounds like its coming from the front of the engine bay on the driver's side and when you put your ear up to the fender it gets louder. When I release the pedal, the noise goes away. Also, it won't make the noise when in any other transmission gear. I bled my brakes thinking it was the brake booster or something...the noise remained but my pedal did get tighter. I also flushed my coolant bc it needed it, and that didn't have any effect on it I don't think. I can't see how the radiator or water pump or thermostat would have anything to do with it, bc it made this noise before and after the coolant flush also... Thanks for any help!

-Brian

PS- the noise is only audible when the car is stopped, not driving

i had loose lugnuts, not loose enough to wabble but it would shudder when the brakes were hit, look at your rotor are there any grooves like something cutting into the rotor from the pad?

yeah i'm thinking something with the ABS pump too but its weird how its only after I'm at a complete stop and only when the trans is in D. It's not the pads or rotors, they're cool and don't make noise or shudder.

did you ever find the cause for this?
I think I have the same problem with G35 sedan. When I am stopped with my foot on the brake and in D I can hear this noise kind of like tapping which comes and goes. It is gone if I change the gear into N. Could it be the crank shaft?
