Tire Help: Kumho ECSTA SPT

Looking at these summer tires which are $82/pop

Kumho Ecsta SPT seems like best overall value

215/50/17
320 AA A tread rating
95W (this is load rating, i believe OE is 93, so a higher load rating would actually infer longer treadlife)

I want to know,

IF you own these or have owned them

1. Overall Impression
2. Treadware?
3. Handling?
4. Buy Again?
5. is there a tire I should consider in that price range (under 500 for 4)?

those 5 questions answered would help out tons!

thanks

I've got them, and I like them. They're pretty quiet, and comfortable. I came from the kumho ASX's, all seasons, so the summer tires do ride a bit harsher with the stiffer sidewall.

I don't know about the treadware; they appear to be doing alright, but I've only had them on for a couple of thousand miles. I would seriously consider buying them again at this point.

+1 AWESOME!!!!
I have 18"s. Love the grip.

1. Overall Impression - VERY impressed so far.
2. Treadware? - great considering my spirited driving habits.
3. Handling? - the best. Sticky!!!!!
4. Buy Again? - absolutely.
5. is there a tire I should consider in that price range (under 500 for 4)? NOPE

GO WITH THE SPT's you will be happy.

I have not had the model but the other Kumho's I had in the past were very good for the price.

I've have Kumho 235's on my coupe 18's for 7,000 miles. Have nothing but good things to say about them. And their price is unbeatable.

Cool

1. Overall Impression i LOVE THEM
2. Treadware? LONG LASTING. HAD MINE ON SINCE MARCH AND I DO ABOUT 4K EVERY 2mo
3. Handling? ASK ANYONE WHO KNOWS ME I HIT TURNS GOIN 60+ WITH NO BRAKES. THAT SHOULD ANSWER THAT QUESTION
4. Buy Again? MOST DEF
5. is there a tire I should consider in that price range (under 500 for 4)? NOPE JUST THE KUMHO.

I THINK THEY ARE A STEAL FOR THE LOW LOW PRICE THEY OFFER. ANOTHER X FACTOR IS THAT I HAD NAILED UNSEEN POT HOLES GOIN REDICULOUS SPEEDS AND NO DAMAGES TO RIMS OR TIRES.

The SPT is a great tire for the money especially compared to the POS Goodyear NCT's the car came with. I autocross with them and am doing much better with this tire than the OEM POS tires.

These tires are not that good.

I have them for approx ~2K Miles now ... and they are def. a step down from my previous two tires. (Pilot Sports and Falken GRB 451's). MUCH SOFTER Sidewall that could def. be felt immediately right when I had them installed .. especially when cornering ..... Much softer compound that seemed to immediately bring out the bounce on my lowered G35x. I have upped the Tire pressure from a cold 35 to 38 psi and that hasnt helped ... I will prob up it more to 40 or so, as some people have had some better luck with it.

Biggest plus, is the price of course. If you are looking for an AVERAGE high peformance tire at a good price get these ... but DO NOT expect excellent performance.
