Check Engine and Small Leak Error
In between my 7500 mile and 11,500 mile services, my "check engine" light came on twice. I called my service adviser and he told me the same old "tighten the gas cap" routine. i did that, refilled the tank, cranked the cap closed and clicked it for 30 seconds for fun. Well, when I went in for the 11,500 mile service, I had them check the on-board computer. They checked the computer and found a "small leak error" in the engine. My dealer (Warren Henry, Miami) says they have 3 customers, including me, with the same complaint (check engine light comes on, stays on for a few days, goes off). They know of no fix as of this time but they say Infiniti is aware of the issue. I don't know if that's true. Has anyone else heard of this????

Re: Check Engine and Small Leak Error
Is the 'service engine soon' green light you are talking about?
accroding to manual, this is related to tighting the gas cap, it'll go off in a few trips. are you saying it's not this simple? you car is actually trying to tell you something?
Silver/Graphite/Premium/Sports/Winter and love it

Re: Check Engine and Small Leak Error
My dealer reset the light and told me it was the gas cap problem which is likely since I recalled how awkward it was tightening it after my last fill-up. BTW, the light didn't go off by itself after several restarts so I took it for service. Light hasn't been back on since. Infiniti should redesign the gas cap strap and holder on the cover...
