The dealer told me I need to replace my brake Rotor at 29k miles v.rip off???

I went in for 30k service and im already spending 500$ on it.

They just called me now that the brake rotors and the brake pads are wearing out and needs to be replaced right away.

WHy would I replace them at 29,000 miles?? I told them No because it suppose to cost me another 600$

Did it do the right thing? How do I know if I need to replace them?

you can check them out your self by pulling off the front wheels but dont be surprised that your brake pads didnt last that long. you do indeed own a sports car. Its all part of the game, right.

I replaced mine at 31K. It is the way Nissan designed the rotors and thats why you stop so good.

Well, there is always the method of stopping by hitting another object.

You didn't mention the year of the car. Enough people have reported having to replace brakes that Infiniti put a 3 year warranty on 2003s and 2004s.

I had mine checked just before my 3 years were up (30K), and mine were still fine. I guess a lot of it depends on how hard you on on your brakes.

What year is your car? The 03/04 has a full brake warranty for I believe 36k miles.

But yes that is about right on the miles. If your car is an 05+ take it somewhere else like brake masters and have them take a look at it. I bet the rotors can be turned. If they can it will save you a ton. Either way get either the oem pads or another good brand; don't get the cheap ones, they are hard as a rock and suck!

You sure can try but they changed the brakes on the 05 to fix the problem.

The actual "Brembo" BBK is big $$$. There are lots of other brand BBK's out there for less and just as good. I have the RacingBrake 4-pot front 13.1" and oem caliper 13" rear kits with stainless lines, hawk pads, Motul fluid and a Stillen master cylinder brace. I have been very happy with the results.

I just replaced my front pads and (non brembo) rotors -

I got the rotors on tirerack - brembo brand (but not for the G35 brembo package) OEM replacement rotors and Hawk HPS pads.

I did the work myself and it cost me around $150.

The rotors were around $50 a piece... the dealership will charge you $150.

The pads were around $40 for the set, also from tirerack.

It was easy work. Should take around 45 minutes for each side if you've never done it before.

DIY!

His is an 05, he says that a few posts up.

I know the car has a 60k warranty but the free replacement brake warranty is only 3 years/36k.

Is there a difference between US and Canadian warranties??

The dealer and service reps have repeatedly told me 4 years 60k.I'm coming up to my 48k service and complained about squeeking and vibration when stopping at times. They say they'll replace them at next service no questions asked.
