It's risky, chances are the paint has faded around the letters but not under them.

I took them off of my Maxima with 87,000 miles. The black tape is not so gooey and requires more work to remove it. But with some waxing there was no difference. The color was white which could also affect outcome.

What color is your car? I would probably do it if it is a lighter color.

My car is an early 04. I just took mine off like a month ago and there was a little bit of a shadow. You could always get it buffed afterwards.

The car looks clean. Nice job.

As for the 03.5 BS you shouldn't have much of a problem. The color is fairly light and it shouldn't have that much fading. If you've been keeping your car clean and it should be good to go.
