seat memory storage

Hello,
first time owner of a G35
i have a 2005 sedan and tried to change the seat memory but it won't store it
i actually followed the instructions on page 3-34 of the manual although it doesn't specifically say what to do for the manual tranny

i tried both buttons and notice the light doesn't light up

any suggestions? closest dealer is 320 miles

seat memory

manual says place in park, adjust seat and steering column, turn ign to on, push Set button and memeory button 1 or 2 within 5 seconds, the indicator light will light up (mine doesn't)
you can also program your key fob by holding the unlock button on the fob while the light is lit up on the seat switch, all that did for me was roll my windows down

although it didn't say, i put the rocker switch in the auto position

make sure your parking brake (not e-brake...don't know why people call it an e-brake...but that's a whole other discussion) is pulled....

Maybe because it functions even if your hydraulic brakes have failed and you need to use it in an emergency. Just a thought.

Originally, it WAS useful in an (e)emergency and was separate (as it is now) from the foot brake. Back when cars were lighter and slooooower it could slow the car. Now we are lucky it will barely keep a stopped car from rolling! Our horsepower can easily drive our cars away with the brake on (not that I have ever done THAT )

Sorry, I'm not sure what is wrong with your seat memory, but it sounds like something is amiss if you have followed the directions. I agree that the auto rocker should be on.

good work, now you just have to make sure that your GF/wife doesnt touch the damn thing because she will accidentally reset both buttons to her settings. TRUST ME.
