Another 350z Suspension Question.....

I just got 350Z Revised Springs and 350z Struts for my 04 Sedan. They are not installed yet and I had a couple questions:

1. How much are they charging in your area to put on Shocks/Springs on your car? My two quotes have been around $300!!!

2. Do you need an alignment after you put on 350z suspension?

Thanks for the help, I want to get this done soon!

The average is around $200 in Nor Cal (Bay Area). If it's just the springs alone it should be a little cheaper sayn $150. Yes, you should get an alignment shortly after your install. Good luck.

My Infiniti dealer told me since the car was not original suspension it could not be aligned. Mine doesn't seem to be too bad though. What I don't understand is that with oem set up it can be aligned but with z springs and a drop of no more than an inch they can't do it. I don't get it.

1. in so cal, it's around 100-150...
2. any time you change your suspension geometry, you should get an alignment

screw the dealer... find an enthusiast shop and get it done!

My preformance shop here in Va is charges $300 plus an alignment.

Yes you will need to get your car aligned after spring installation.

They just didn't want to do anything since you modded your G out. If you had drop the car using 350z springs, I was told it can be aligned back to OEM specs.

The only thing you can't adjust is the camber (maybe toe also I can't remember).

You should be able to get it back to coupe OEM specs (mine did) but I have not seen anyone get back to sedan OEM specs without adding adjustable camber components.

Welp this is pretty frustrating...only one shop will do it for me at the price of $350 with alignment, most say they can not since it's aftermarket or not purchased through them. I'm lost when it comes aligning back to OEM spec....do you have to give the specs to the mechanic or do they know it??

Like I told you, do it yourself!!! j/k I know you dont have the tools to do it. With and alignment 350 isnt too bad. Go figure that and alignment is going to run your like 80-100 bucks. I think if you shop around you should be able to find some shop that would do it for around 200. Too bad your not in chicago or else I would help you out.

You should really consider doing it yourself. All the necessary tools can be purchased for much less than $350 plus you will have them for the next project (if you don't already have tools).

As far as the alignment goes, the alignment shop should know the specs but if you search you can find them here somewhere. I know I have seen them.

^^+1 It should only take the better part of the afternoon, even for novice wrencher. Good luck and post some pics when you're done.
All you need is a decent set hand tools, spring compressor, torque wrench, service jack & jackstand. An extra set of hands never hurt either.

I just got my 350Z springs/ front and coupe springs/rear installed. Going to get it aligned tomorrow. Should I tell the alignment shop to use coupe specs???

PS: Thanks for everyone who help me make my mind up on getting these type of springs. The car does handle a lot better. Next will be sway bars.
