Re: Re-badging the Sedan POLL:
Oh come on. Look, you're free to do what you want with your car, but I don't think all this debadgery would be going on if the G was called a "Nissan Multima" in Japan. Call it a Skyline if you want, or if it's really about being different, re-badge it as a Renault Megane. They own Infiniti too, and the Megane has about as much in common with a previous model Skyline as a G35 (i.e. damn near nothing). Let's be frank: badges aren't for telling you what you drive. You know what you drive. They're for telling everyone else what you drive. And you know perfectly well what car they're going to associate the name "Skyline" with (if they recognize the name at all).
Again, I'm not saying don't do what you want with your car. The badges don't belong there any less than the silly, half-a-lunch-tray spoiler. Hell, I have a few small cosmetic mods too. But come on, who are you trying to kid with this non-GTR Skyline talk? Pick any previous Skyline ever made. The G35 doesn't have a platform, engine, exterior, or interior in common with any of them. Nobody would have ever confused this car with a Skyline if it had been introduced as anything else. The only place it was ever a Skyline was in some Japanese marketing firm's imagination. So wearing the name makes you happy. That's fine, they obviously wanted you to be drawn to their brand name. Just don't go sticking any "Turbo Spyder" badges back there, and it's all good.

Re: Re-badging the Sedan POLL:
This is funny, reminds me of when I got my first new car, a 68 Mustang, I was just 19, and thought I was being cool removing the horse from the grille and replacing it with an SST emblem from a Rambler, geez,a Rambler, that lasted like three days, then I realized, why the hell did I do that? I think a friend talked me into that, geez! Maybe someone now could replace their G35 badge with a Dauphine badge!

Re: Re-badging the Sedan POLL:
I agree with Renesis. Those of you who are saying that you bought an Infiniti to drive an Infiniti are right. But, where I disagree is, those that are saying that the Infiniti is not a Skyline, so don't change the emblems. In fact, the Infiniti IS a Skyline and is based on the Nissan Skyline. Don't know about the GT-R for certain, but from what I've heard, the GT-R is scheduled for release as the R-35 Skyline (2005-2007?), 12th Generation.
Re: Re-badging the Sedan POLL:
Personally I prefer no badges. I don't care if other people know or don't have a clue what kinda car I drive. I extremely hate the people who go out of their way to create an image they don't conceive, like say a Civic with a "Type R" badge on it. I'm just waiting for a debadged grill to come out. That's when I'll remove my rear logo and fill the holes. No one will know what kinda car it is unless they "know" what kinda car it is. Plain and simple. I like my car and I'm gonna enjoy it. You do what ever you want to your car and you enjoy yours as well.

P.S.
For those who care. I drive a Silver Sedan 6MT CA license plate "KRZ HAYN" = "Krazy Hawaiian". A "Shaka" is always welcome.

Or so many duplicates. Thanks Calvin, for resurrecting a thread that's 2301 days old. I think that's a new record.
