Re: car theft

Nissan and Infiniti haven't made the top 10 stolen vehicles list...Hondas, Toyotas, Chevy S10s, and Ford F150s are the top 10...And some Buicks..

Re: car theft

then you're going to need to find a clever way around the "immobilizer" setup that cuts current to the starter without a correctly-coded key in the vicinity of the ignition

Is that the little green square located on the edge of our keys?
If not, what is that little green square?

Re: car theft

That's true. The biggest reason for those cars getting stolen so often is that there are so many of them. Most of them are stolen for their parts, and end up in a chop shop.

That being said, however, our G was stolen a couple of months ago. Some kids broke into our house and found an extra set of keys. Since we were out, and hadn't taken the G, they were able to steal it without breaking into it. Luckily, the police stopped them, but not before they crashed it. Hopefully, we'll be getting it back from the shop this week.

Re: car theft

I heard the 03 Maximas are getting their HID headlights ripped off right and left. And they are very costly to replace. It really sucks when you have expensive parts that can be retrofit to earlier cars, especially once the earlier cars get low enough in price so that they can be afforable to people who consider stealing parts a valid way to mod their cars. Lets hope the HIDs on the G's don't become a target for the earlier non-HID equipped cars.

Re: car theft

I read in another forum that some guy's I35's headlights were stolen - and it costed $1200 each to replace !!!
Does G35 have the same headlights as I35 ? Why are the headlights so expensive !??

Re: car theft

How do they steal the lights without getting under the hood, doesn't appear another way to do it from looking at mine?

Re: car theft

they pretty much destroy the car to get the entire assembly off. I can't imagine they do it cleanly if they rush to avoid getting caught...makes no sense
