US spec rear bumper V.S. Japanese spec

I was wondering why does the US spec bumper on the sedan look elogated while the Japanese spec looks much shorter, look better in my opinion? Are black pieces on the bottom the same length for the US and Japanese ones? I am thinking about getting the Impul kit. Will I have problem fitting the JDM rear Impul lip onto the US bumper? Please advise. Thank you.

Maybe it's longer to comply with the federal mandated 5mph crash rule. Got any pics to illustrate your point?

Here you go. My concern is if the bottom length is still the same as the JDM, other than the top is longer than JDM. I am thinking about getting the Impul kit and am conerned that the rear piece is different size and length.

Actually its the same. Its just the darker backgroudn that created a shadow area.

That was my thought also. In this day and age of utilizing parts between cars, It would make no sense for Nissan to produce two different bumpers.

It is probably a 350GT-8 that producs 272hp and the *** version has a different exhaust so thats not big deal.

350GT-8 = 272hp, 8 speed automatic with pedal sport shift
350GT = G35
And then there are different version of the sedans with lower spec engines, and all wheel drive models just like the G35X

I don't think it's a figment of my imagination. The Japanese bumper does seem shorter compared to the US one.

Here's another link to a 360 view of the G sedan ( please click on the sedan) and compare with the US bumper. The Japanese one is a lot shorter.
