Good question. The Greddy kit has a bad rep on here but it is an awesome kit.

1. Management, the blue emanage box is inadequate for this kit above standard boost (5.5psi). I have a new UTEC sitting in my garage.
2. Proven reliability (I know but wait). It is still the kit of choice for Forged Performance, AAM and other big tuners. If installed and tuned properly the kit is awesome. I know that more engines have been blown with the Greddy than any other but there are a few good reasons for that, many used the emanage box and turned up the boos beyond what it was made for, they just sold the kit to anyone and let them install it, there are more greddy kits out there than the others by far.
3. If you are going above ~8psi a real fuel return kit is a good idea but you don’t have to just have the basic/entry level one the APS kit comes with.
4. Price. Even with the UTEC it's still over $1k less than the other kits right now.
5. Turbos. IMO not having water cooled BB turbos is not an issue at this size. When you get up to the larger turbos like the Turbonetics it is a must. But I have seen dynos and this kit spools just as fast and has more potential than the standard JWT or APS. For a long time I thought the Greddy kit had a lot of lag compared to the others, then I spoke to a guy who has driven all three TT kits and he said between APS and Greddy they are identical and the JWT is a little faster but not worth the price in his opinion.
6. Get what your tuner likes. UMS Tuning did Twinsnails 600+whp Greddy kit. Tony knows this kit and likes it. I want to have someone local who knows my car and can help me if any issues come up. There is no JWT dealer within 300 miles of me.

Basically the Greddy it is an awesome tuner kit that lets you choose what management and fuel you want for it. I don't like the boost creep and diaphragm problems many have seen with the APS. The JWT is not an option because I can't afford give my car to VRT for three weeks, location, and with the changes I would want to make that kit would cost me over $3k more!

Don’t get me wrong, all the choices we have are awesome and I don’t want to talk down on any of them. I just have a good feeling about this kit and after spending well over 100 hours of research I think this is a good choice for me.

As you can see, I have done my homework!
I get an A for effort. Lets see if I can also get an A for results.

are your tranny & rear diff stock? If so, at what point to you start to worry about too much juice for them?

I have a JWT clutch and UR flywheel. The rest of the tranny and diff are stock. You can run up to 550-600whp no problem. Until I build my engine I am going to keep it under 400whp. I think the VRT car has a stock tranny and diff and it makes 760whp/806wtq (I think those #'s are right).
