I was going to trade in my car but the dealer offered me $14K for 2003 w/55k miles on it very good condition. so i'm trying to sell it on my own for $16,500. I saw other cars similar with miles and options going for 18-19K. i'm i missing something?

location location location man, all depends where you are. in a place like NY the market is probably saturated with 03-04 G35's as people there upgrade more regularly, go somewhere where the median household income is lower and people are prone to keeping cars longer, so there are less used 03-04's on the market, when demand outweighs supply the prices asked and paid go up.

That's the price you pay for living in NY where every1 wants to keep up with the Jones's. My 03 has almost 70K on it and I am planning to keep it for another year or two and take it up to about 95K before I sell it.

That would be a good price here in Cali...I paid $17,500 for 03.5 AT with Premium Package with 61k miles on it.

What tranny, coupe or sedan, AWD or not? In the NE a 03.5 sedan RWD is worth 16 on a good day unless it's a 6MT. Throw in some body work and you can pretty much be stuck in it. It's a shame but since I planned to keep mine I don't mind the values at all. That's why you shouldn't buy a car you plan to get rid of before 5 or so years. You are destined to get hammered.

I was offered 18.4 last year, should have taken it but then I would be buying another car barely better than mine for alot more. I have 34k miles on a 4 year old car. I would have bought a worse car than the one I would have sold AND paid more! Are you at all compelled to keep it?
