Door Lock
I don't know if this has been discussed previously.
During these past -20+ weather weeks, I always start the car and let it warm up in the garage while i go back into the house to drink some HOT coco! But every time when I get back to the car the doors are locked and I've locked my keys in the car! I always wonder if i had brushed against the door lock while i was getting outta the car? But it's highly impossible... Anyhow, while i was in my local shop doing the recall services today. I talked to the shop manager about the door locking problem. He told me this only happens to the G in extreme cold weather. And he too got locked out with their loaner cars couple of times too. Then he went on and told me it's because the moisture accumulated in the door locks and they have no fix for it yet. !!!???!?!?! Does it occurred to any of your guys ???
Anyhow, the funny part was there was also a G owner there waiting for his car. I asked him about the locking problems and he said it never happened to him yet. Right after our discussion the shop manager comes in and told him they have locked his keys in the car.... Poor guy!
sorry about the bad grammers and typos...i'm in a rush..

Re: Door Lock
Sounds like your "G" wants some of that HOT Coco too and doesn't want to leave the garage.
But seriously, do you use the door unlock switch to open the locks before getting out? Give us the entire sequence to try. The Service Manager sounds like he's doesn't know what he's talking about.

Re: Door Lock
I know some cars do that. Once it reaches to a certain speed it automatically locks the doors...
But i don't think G has that feature in their car. When I'm driving, it doesn't lock automatically.
This is getting really annoying. Especially they said they dont' have a fix for it yet!

Re: Door Lock
It's supposed to lock the doors 5 minutes after you get out.. but I'd think not with the engine running. I haven't tried it myself. I wish it did auto-lock once you start driving away, and unlock when you turn the engine off, though.

Re: Door Lock
As previously mentioned I've never had the doors lock on me with the keys in the car, but this is maybe due to the fact that I've never had the misfortune of forgetting the keys in the car. However I recently noticed that the car doors will locked automatically after 5 minutes, but that this does not happen when I bring the car in the garage at night. The only thing I can attribute this to is the fact that I drive at night with the lights in the auto mode, and that when the car is brought in I shut the lights off completely by putting it in the off mode. Anyone know of any other possibilities? I'm going to the dealer this week and will ask.
