2006 G35 brakes squealing

I have only 7500k kms on my new (3 months old) g35 sedan and noticed the brakes are slightly squealing. They squeal when i press the brakes a bit hard and not lightly (or when i tap the brakes).

Any idea why this is occuring?

I dont brake hard or drive hard. I only have a plenum spacer/jwt pop/z tube installed and i doubt those mods are the reason.

Will have the dealer look at it on sat since thats the earliest i can get there on my schedule.

i had the same exact thing happen to me a short while ago. i have a 06 G with 13k on it. i had removed the wheels a whole mess of times in my quest to find the perfect wheel spacers. anyways, i removed the wheel and cleaned up the rotor a bit, and the sound seemed to have gone away. i also took it to the dealer, and they couldnt duplicate the sound. the guy gave me a huge BS story about how these "high-performance" cars' brakes only last 7-12k miles. i almost slapped him silly.

...but yea, try and see if there is something on the rotor, or just take it to the dealer.

well does it matter if i get the car washed thoroughly? mind I have my car washed every alternate day by someone. ITs been raining for the past two weeks and theres alot of dirt/sand (middle east) on the road so that could be the reason..

lets see ill power wash her on friday and take her to the dealer on sat just to ease my mind.

Sometimes depending on what they put on the car to clean the wheels will get on the pads. The detail guys at ford used to use acid on the wheels to clean off the dirt and stuff but it would eat the pads up and make em noisy. As far as the mods, those have absolutly nothing to do with your break issue, the brakes normally last anywhere from 15 to 25k depending on driving habits. If you see a small lip on the rotor just on the edge thats what causes most of the squeel. If you just scuff the rotors lightly it will help it go away. But to be honest with you infiniti brakes are noisy regardless of what you do, wether you replace pads, rotors, cut rotors, or apply brake quite they still end up squeeling.

i had the car thoroughly washed today (lifted up and washed underneath) and they still make a slight squeal.

The dealership here will look at it first thing on sat morning and if there is a fault, they said they will replaced the brakes.

only 7k clicks on the odometer. im pretty disappointed seeing my G has been pretty much flawless till now

Acura/Honda brakes are like that too. Either they squeal or the rotors warp.

Add the Jeep liberty to the squeal lineup.

it was dust particles in the brakes due to the rain and sand here. they cleaned it out today and i will keep an ear out tomrorow when driving home in the intense traffic - thats when they squeal the most.
