those are nice... I'm not sure I like the spokes going to edge of rim though...

I wonder how much they weigh?

Rays Japan has them on their website:
http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/indexe.html

But Mackin doesnt list them yet... are they available here?

Yes, just recently. Forged Performance has sold a few sets so far. I have been following this wheels for almost a year.

The new big style is the no-lip style. I have always liked it but it's hit or miss with many.

Did you change the stock clutch pivot ball? Just asking. I'm sure you already know the stock one breaks especially dragging the car.

I think the coupe and sedan uses the same length axles. The coupe body is 2.5" wider than the Sedan which is the reason they have lower offsets.

Width overall Sedan 69" Coupe 71.5"

Stock wheel offsets
....Sedan rear 7.5jj @ 1.77in (45mm) offset
....Coupe rear 8jj .. @ 1.30in (33mm) offset
........19" rear 8.5jj @ 1.30in (33mm) offset

This is all speculation right now since I haven't measured them, but it makes sense to me based on the above information.

If I have enough time tomorrow I am going to try and change the axles.

Are you talking about the TO bearing? I put a new one in with the twin plate carbon clutch but it's still oem because no one makes an afternarket one.

I would NOT drag the car especially on drag radials. The pivot ball is made of low grade steel and if it breaks the hole transmission goes with it. Our 6speed is actually 90% identical to a Getrag 6speed from a Supra (comparison is on my350z) and 100% identical in gear strength but the pivot ball from the clutch fork is the only reason why ours breaks dragging.

This is the pivot ball.

And the stock throw out bearing sucks. The Nismo roller bearing is better.

Please do not drag the car unless you change the pivot ball. The throw out bearing is fine but at least change the pivot ball.

Your car is valuable to me and the knowledge I gained from it even if it's not mine so you cant let it fail.

The problem is here. If you drag the car on drag radials and you break it I'm going to be very upset.

I actually have been taking it easy on my car ever since I found out about the problem over a year ago. I never launch at more than 5k RPM from a dead stop.

You are the only one out of all the sedan owners that is closer to running the 1/4 in 9sec than anyone else and that's why your car is important.

Wow, never knew about this problem.

The few times I have taken my car to the drags I take off at low rpm (~2.2-2.3 60' times LOL) in fear of taking out the axles. I'll make sure to replace this before I go back to the drags this fall.

Thanks!!!

Have all the big drag G/Z guys replaced this part? It shocks me that I have never heard about it before.

It sucks that it will be a big PITA to change this. With the way my wastegates sit it's a big pain and takes a lot of time to get my tranny out. That was one of the reasons I went with a big $ clutch that lasts a long time.

I know it's hard to get to. I saw the pics. There is only a few that know about the problem. Most people that drag 6MTs assume the transmission is to blame for the way it feels after making a few drag passes. The transmission is more than adequate. The pivot ball isn't.

And thank you for not breaking your car.

Wow I'm really glad I read this! I'm getting an OS Giken twin plate clutch put in with my JWT TT kit next week... Looks like I'll be putting a new one of these in too

Would you guys recommend anything to replace the OEM part or just a new one?
