BTW. I want to let you know that there is a 3.5" throttle body option for our cars that bolts up. I see you have plenty of room around the plenum inlet for one.

The TB I'm talking about is made out of an LS2 drive by wire TB and only 12 have been made by 2 people and sold to Nissan Titan owners. I've been trying to get some wiring pics of the TB but the Titan owners are not very cooperative. The TB has adapter plates and is wired to work with our cars. Since you and Nichols do custom metal fabrication it might be an easy and inexpensive way to add 20hp to your car or more since your car is FI.

If you are interested here is a pic. The wiring harness is hidden in all the pics I found of it. I am going to go to the ls1tech forums and ask people there for the FSM on a LS2 car to figure out the wiring. The adapter plates are very easy to get a hold of and they are already cut to size. Just have to know what size and make a guess and drill them out. http://www.midweststeelsupply.com/st...1aluminumplate

I'm not sure how much power this would make on my car as my TB is already ported and my plenum inlet isn't any larger than the TB. The LS1,2,3,etc guys don't have that same problem with the plenum post-TB being a bottleneck. It might help but I'm not sure and the oem size has shown good flow well above 800whp.

The plenum inlet on the vk56 is the same size as ours as is the TB itself. They say this 3.5" TB showed gains on the dyno 20 or so whp compared to stock TB. They also say that it opened faster than the stock TB.

I'm not sure about this but maybe the inlet on our stock plenum can be bored out since it's cast and the ID and OD is thick.

Dyno and comparison pics.

^I saw it.

It might even be better. The entire inlet can be cut off and a new 90mm one can be welded. Or cut it off and leave only enough to weld on a transition pipe from 70mm to 90mm. After that a stainless steel plate can be welded on and the LS2 TB would bolt directly with no adapter plate. I would definitely try it if I was in your position. Especially with the support of Nichols.

I'm actually going to pass on this idea to Injected Performance. I'm sure they are willing to go the extra mile and try something like this.

My guess is that as closer you get to the lower plenum with bigger piping/TB it would improve air flow and show gains.

I'm sure that way would show some gains. I'm not sure I will go that far right now as I'm pretty happy with the power my car makes and that would also require a re-tune on top of all the other work. Do you know how much those TB and adapter plates cost?

The kit itself is a lot cheaper to make yourself. The 12 that were made cost $700 plus the cost of the TB which had to be shipped out to the 2 people that made them. The OEM GM TBs can be bought off Ebay. This is a 95mm TB that apparently is offered in drive by wire form and drive by cable for other GM cars. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33558 Ported one drive by wire. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VMAX-...=p4506.c0.m245
GM part number for the OEM LS2/LS7 one is # 12570790 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06...Q5fAccessories

Since then a few members sold theirs to other Titan owners for less than the original cost. I tried making offers to get my hands on one and show the wiring to everyone and how it was made so others can have it also for less. Original thread here http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/show...&highlight=PGM

Word right now is that this guy who might have been involved in making the original 12 is going to make another for about $500 or less. http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/member.php?u=14806 http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53879 As you can see he has a couple of projects going on even an FI Titan.

This is his website http://www.relentlessrpm.com/

I personally don't like the secrecy around the wiring for the TB when I asked them. I thought they would be helpful in some way and show some support.

No problem. I want to help out as much as possible since you are the one that has the ideal setup and support for something like that.

If you decided to try it mandrel bent 304ss can be bought here in 90mm. It's quite pricey. http://www.burnsstainless.com/304tub...lbends304.html
I got mine for my exhaust from here but they don't sell 90mm. http://www.mandrel-bends.com/catalog/

BTW here is something else you might be interested in. Exhaust cut out not electrical. http://www.spracingonline.com/spblog/ Not badly priced for the gains. http://www.spracingonline.com/store/...___3_inch/3673

Funny you bring that up as I was looking at those not long ago. The problem is that with my current setup I would need two ($700). I think I would weld a 4" bypass between the two pipes and put a single 4" cutout in if I went this way.

As for the 90mm bends, I'm sure Kevin my fab guy can get all that stuff for good prices.

Thanks again!

I think it would be better to wait and buy 2 cutouts since the exhaust is dual.

Where does Kevin get the steel? Locally in AZ or online? Is it Chinese or American? I been looking for some cheaper stainless. I paid through the nose for the steel I have for my exhaust.

BTW when you go back to the drag strip please take some vids!!

I'm not sure where he gets his stuff.

I get sheets of stainless and aluminum from a local recycle place here in Phoenix for cheap. But Kevin got all the parts to build my exhaust.

The cut outs would requre some retuning too. I get about 0.75 - 1 point increase in AFR when I open mine.

quick OT question? Aren't you the guy on the Maxima forums that ran a 12 second pass in a NA 4th gen Maxima?? I remember there was a video. The time was better than some FI cars. That time was actually on par with an Audi R8 and Tims sedan

I remember a maxima on a big shot of spray that was running great times with big @ss slicks.

My car would run high 10's with the right tires and right driver. LOL
