Nice numbers, quick question would you go with test pipes or stick with HF cats, I have Crawford HF cats and I was thinking of getting some APS test pipes to lessen the restriction. I just don't want any rasp.
The RV Specialist
I haven't heard a test pipe that wasn't raspy. I have a set in my garage that I swapped out for the HF. Didn't dyno the difference, but the difference in sound was worth the change. Some people like it, IMO it's too raspy @ 3-4K.

That's one of the great things about a TT kit. The turbos not only make the exhaust quiet, they take away all the rasp. Get the test pipes! Your turbos will spool faster and you car will still sound great. Mine is not even as loud as it was before the TT kit and oem cats and has no rasp at all!!!

I have heard that on TT setups it is harder to hear the rasp, of course I want to get the most power out of the system and I have heard that even with HF cats you are not getting the most potential out of the system.Originally Posted by Graphite05G

This is true for N/A and SC cars, not turbo cars. With the turbos in the exhaust flow everything changes. My car has no rasp at all and is still nice and quiet.

Thanks ttrank, I thought that was the case, I may just get some resonated test pipes just because they look like I have cats....you know the cali laws here.Originally Posted by ttrank

100% true. I was so scared to get test pipes because the Kinetix HF cats I had before with my Stillen kit were too loud for me. My car is no louder than before with the oem cats and spools so fast now! The only thing that changes is it smells more and sounds a bit throatier but the overall volume (dB) did not increase.

Either way I doubt they will pass. Originally Posted by urban

And the resonated TP do nothing for sound. The resonators are too small.

The resonators would be for visual aspects only
there is no way my car could pass anything
Thanks for all the info, greatly appreciated.

Glad to help. Good luck with the test! Let me know if you can find some place it passes! I may move to Cali some day.
