I live way up north near Happy Valley and I-17 but I do come down to UMS Tuning from time to time. They were in Tempe and now are in north-west Mesa.

I heard ums tunning will lock the chips once they tuned it so we can't change it in future unless done by them again is that true???

 

Not sure what "chips" you are talking about. UMS Tuning is the shop that does the dyno tuning and builds motors. They don't make a custom box, they tune what you have to your car/mods for optimum performance.

Whether you have control depends more on what EMS you have. I use a UTEC which has 7 different maps (fuel and timing) I can switch between on the fly. Right now I have three street tunes and one race gas tune. The other three spots are just copies of one of my street tunes in case it gets switched on accident.

 

How much to take the beast for a spin around the block? .
