i agree that our cars are practical and reliable but they are tough/ expensive to make the kind of power we are talking about. When you own an amg its a completly different experience.

I agree. An AMG comes from the factory with 500-700hp and all the class you expect from an MB.

I was in meetings and stuff so my car just sat most of the time. If I knew there would have been girls there for pics like that I would have waited to put all the tape on my car.

Nicely Done. I just bought a G35 Sedan.. I'm looking to do a few mods. I live in Gilbert, AZ. I guess you recommend UMS Tuning out of Tempe?

Yes, Tony, Jeremy and the guys at UMS are great. They moved to North West Mesa now.

I was thinking today about your car and how you said you have no traction.

Does the rear suspension allow any travel at all since it's soo far lowered? I was just thinking that the reason for the car not getting traction is because the suspension in the rear does not have enough travel to allow the car to squat down

Just a thought...

I have tons of travel on my rear. When I stomp on it the rear end tucks quite a bit past the rim lip. I am using the Tein comfort sport coilovers which ride a lot like stock. I can open my trunk and stand on the lip area moving the rear end and make it drop down a good 3". The problem is not in my suspension, it is that my car makes so much torque so fast and only has 275's on the rear. It goes from ~230wtq to 490wtq in about 1200-1300rpm. (from 2000rpm to 3200rpm) That's a lot to ask from street tires! If I feather the throttle I can avoid wheel spin in most gears, it's more when I put my foot down and leave it there.

Based on the above, do you drive with VDC on a lot, or are you a really experienced driver & keep it off?

I have a KP memory module that turns it off each time I start it. Ever since I have had a Stillen SC I always drive wtih VDC off, the system was not made to work with the kind of power boosted VQ's make so it cuts ignition all the time because the wheels slip a lot.

I only turn it on when other people drive my car like my wife who does not drive it hard at all.
