Ight so I loosened it up once again, and ofcourse it's vibrating badly. I'll drive like this for a couple of days and see if it gets any better... if not, then it's coming off.

haha another one. you know, engine is designed to vibrate a little. your "dampener" stopped it from doing so. so now it's vibrating the chassis, instead of vibrating in the engine mounts.

I dont think you guys realize how badly it's vibrating... it sounds like the dashboard is about to come loose and fly into your face lol.

I know I'm bringing up a long dead thread, BUT I experienced this problem on my install last night and thought I'd post up what my solution to the problem was for anyone still doing this modification.

If you look at his pictures, you can see his adjusting nut is tight to the bottom (large nut closest on top of the red body) which mine was as well. In this tightened position I noticed that the damper would not move/rotate, and with my foot on the brake in reverse and drive (5AT) I would have this loud, deep vibration echoing through the car.

I took my wrench and backed that nut off roughly 1/2-3/4 turn, just enough to allow the damper to move/twist freely and found that it made most of the vibration and noise go away. You may find that you have to back it off more or less depending on how tight yours was to begin with, but it should rectify the problem.

Also, for anyone doing this mod, I would suggest putting blue thread locker on a few spots:
- Unscrew the bottom of the red body and put thread locker on before reattaching it firmly. I have had an ebay damper on my other G35 for over 200,000 km and this was the only part i had unscrew on me.
- On the bolt you remove for the power steering bracket which had some from the factory. FSM says to torque this bolt to 27 ft/lbs in case anyone is wondering.

Hopefully all this info will justify my thread resurrection.
