Exclamation 60 K Maintenance Help!

Dealership is charging me 600$ for the 60K maintenance. Can anyone advise me as to how important it is for me to get it done by the dealership b/c my warranty is over. Im thinkin of getting it done through an independent mechanic but my concerns are:

If there are any people like this, can someone provide me contact info within the Chicago area?

Appreciate any advice! Thanks!

Its not that important at all to have the dealership do the maintenance. I my self cant wait till i am done with my factory warranty and start on my Extended warranty so i can go else were for my service.

My local dealers price list shows $570 for 60k service, plus about 50 for mobil 1. I don't think you HAVE to use a dealer but you should be able to fully document that you had all the required service done on time etc. I am coming up on my 30k service and the cost is 450 or so and I may go elsewhere. There have been a few other posts on infinit maintenance costs and the price varies dramatically by dealer so if there are any other infiniti dealers around, try them. good luck.

You might also want to try a Nissan dealer, they might be cheaper.

To it your self; I did the 30K by myself, oil, filter, air filter, cabinet air filter, brake fluid, coolant, MT transmission fluid, differential fluid. It was fun and I know it was done right. Most difficult thing was to find the MT Nissan transmission fluid.

if you do this, I believe you chance making it hard to make warranty claims in the future as you do not have documentation (unless you are a mechanic w/ a garage yourself) to back up that you had maintenance performed at the mileage points designated in the owners manual (runon sentence, whew!).

Do you mean peace of mind?

As for that, I do it myself so I have peace of mind it was done right. I know some guys who work at the dealers and would not trust them to touch my car.
