Can you take some upclose pics of the suede upholstery that came stock on this car?
It's cloth interior, not suede.. lol

Wow...sooooooo weird to see our car with the driver's side on the opposite side....I can't even imagine driving a car from that side (obviously you're used to it).

Anyone else notice this air box doesn't have the opening with the "power duct" on it? It's completely closed up, but he still has the pins to remove that panel that is closing it.

SKYLINE250GT - I highly recommend opening that panel up & letting your car breathe some more....you'll get a nice intake noise as well by doing this! Hard to believe your car only is using that central intake opening, which most people believe to be only slightly functional.

Welcome. How common are these in NZ? Is that a rear-window wiper I see? Is this standard equipment on the J-spec V35? That would be a cute mod for a US-spec :-)

Great pics, but take some with NZ scenery!

Didn't realise I'd have so many questions to answer.

The interior does have suede on the seats, it's fake though. The pillars and doors have the standard plastic and leather trim.

The engine bay is covered in plastic so there's not much to see. The VQ25 and the VQ35 look almost the same. I did remove the little panel on the airbox but it was too noisy. I want to break away from my tradition of owning loud , noisy cars. I've owned all models of Skyines from the R30 to R34 and now the V35, which isn't really a Skyline. They were all really fast and really noisy but now I want something smooth and super quiet.

These cars aren't available outside of Japan so there are very few mods and performance packages available for them. The brochures are all in Japanese so it's a bit of a mission tracking down tuning parts. There's huge support in the US but shipping is quite expensive. I have found that some parts for older model Skylines and 300zx's do fit this cars and 350z parts fit as well.

Skylines are pretty common in NZ, most models fo about 1994 to present; they're all Japanese imports. All the models I've owned have had the rear wiper.

Cheers.

Looks like the same cloth seats offer here for a short while with the initial launch. Your car looks great, I like wheels. Is your car lowered?

What's the switch on the console next to the shifter for?

I noticed that you don't have steering wheel controls for the radio or cruise control. What other options/features differ from US models? VDC, Auto windows, etc?

Makes about 160kw of power and 270nm of torque. It's very smooth and quiet and has enough grunt to pass most cars on the road. This one has a 4-speed auto, the same one that Nissan used in the 300zx, Skyline, etc. A 5-speed, 6-speed and 8-speed auto are available as well. The 8-speed is a CVT transmission.

Interior has suede upholstery and is a similar spec to the US cars. This forum has helped me quite a bit in fixing small problems. The two cars are identical in specification; apart from the motor.

Hmmm Thats why when i was playing gran turismo 4 the other day the skyline 350gt had an 8 speed.
