I was at the dealer yesterday installing my front plates. My car is almost 3 months with 2600miles so I figured might as well do the oil change since I'm already there. The dealer insisted I wait for 3750 miles but my instinct tells me 3 mo's regardless of miles. I need to call for an appointment anyway but debating if I should wait or just do it now . I'd appreciate your opinions.

You can do the oil change now. I think the first oil change should be like 2k miles. After that, every 3k.

In the owner's manual, it's stated as 3750 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first (or if you go the synthetic route, 5000 miles or 4 months).

Since I have a short commute to/from school and work, I'll never accumulate enough miles before the next oil change date, so for me I go by the date.

Ditto. I'll never see the miles so I go with a calendar schedule.

For myself, I go by the miles. With my truck, I'll go ahead at 6 months even if I haven't done the miles. But the car is every 3000 miles.

Thanks for all your feedbacks...I'm set to go next week.

Btw I checked dipstick level (awkward dipstick set up LOL!) and is Low, I'll definitely mention it to the dealer especially after reading threads about oil consumptions.
