Finally, HKS Supercharged AWD Sedan Photo Shoot

Big thanks to John at Bill Dodge Infiniti to install the F-con & fitted in the HKS Rotrex S/C to my 05X, quite a bit of re-location & fabrcation & it took totally 19 hours of labor.

This is the third FI on AWD sedan & first with HKS Rotrex as I know of.

Yes, It's lowered modestly 0.5" all around with Sedan Sport Springs.

Thanks, Actually, the Idle A/F is very close to before (14.5), so I think
I'll be getting similar mpg, we'll see.

She runs beautifully so far, after one day , as smooth as OE, idle is rock solid, no vibrations & super quiet thanks to Rotrex Trtaction Rollers instead of gears, S/C is not as loud compares to Stillen or Vertech but you can hear it, together with my Stillen Dual, sound like a V8. Shift is very close to before the FI.

I don't mind at all, I am budget consious & I think I did it well with a small FI budget. I have done a complete cost beark down in a separate thread here:

Congrats!!

I know you have been working on this for a while. Must feel great to stop thinking about it and start driving.

If you get time get some video from the outside, I would like to hear what it sounds like from the outside.

I dont know much about the effects of supercharging an engine but how reliable is it? Do you have to build up the internals alot? How about the tranny? That is a really nice set up.

ma_sha1, the install looks great, and so does the photoshoot (love the color on the '05)!

Nice to see that you're from Maine. Which part of the state are you from? My family and I used to live in Augusta, Gardiner and Winthrop for many years (throughout my high school). Now we've all moved down here in Florida, except for my brother (who lives in Augusta). I miss having good 'ol Maine lobster, that's for sure

Thanks, TTrank,

Long time coming, As I was being extra extra cautious. I think I am done with mods. I haven't done Videos, but I'll look into it.

Thanks, man. The HKS is one of the most reliable S/C, there's never a blown engine yet, Similar to Stillen in terms of safety, there was one blown Engine on Stillen I've heard, Vortech has blown a few more.

Tranny is a weak link, However, The HKS only adds 80-100hp, I think I am
at lower risk than most FI. Future tranny upgrates may come if I feel it's needed.

Thanks buddy, I am in Portland area, there is only one Speed shop around here, North East Performance, but they suck, I had a S/C install apt with them, they stood me up, so that I had to go beg Infiniti dealer to install for me, Great services there.

BTW, I just ate a loster last night, Yum

How is the power band; is it available from off idle or do you have to get to say 3k rpm to feel the difference? Do you have a plenum spacer? I ask because I have read the HKS goes lean with a spacer or exhaust mods.
