hehe ABQ... maybe the old fogey '03 G35s are getting their letters first, then the newer models to follow. age before beauty.

oooh, my loaner for today was a silver/graphite sedan. that color is beautiful on a sunny day like today. every time i was at a stoplight i looked to the side at its reflection in windows.

For those of you that feel left out, there's a copy of a sample letter in this thread:

Old fogey, huh? LOL! Hey, they gave you my car as a loaner! The combination of Silver/Graphite/and Chrome wheels was hard to resist! I just got an I35 for my loaner, nice, but not a G!

Well, if you want less dust, you could buy some new pads yoruself and install them, it's pretty simple. I think you can get some decent pads for around $150, check tirerack.com. Then let Infiniti replace your rotors, which are the expensive part, for free.

Re: **Free Brakes & Rotor Replacement**

Of course, if you get aftermarket pads, be prepared for the dealer to say something like, "Those pads are harder on the rotors than the factory pads. Your brake warranty is void."

I was going to get something else too, but I'll just live with the dust for now and keep the wheels waxed.

Re: **Free Brakes & Rotor Replacement**

Folks:

I received my yesterday. What should I do with it? Should I just bring my car in to have it done now or should I wait until it started squeaking????

Thanks

ThinhDLe:

I don't think they will replace the pads or rotor until it is worn out. I called the my dealer service rep yesterday and asked her about this, she confirmed it. However, she was saying about this is a done one time only deal, I argue with her and she end up saying she doesn't know and have to get back to me on this. Man, I should talk to the manager about this, service rep should be the first one to know about news like this.

Re: **Free Brakes & Rotor Replacement**

It won't be a one-time thing. Warranties don't work that way.. it doesn't matter if they only have to replace it once, or have to replace it 50 times. Your brakes, whatever they put on your car, are warrantied for 3 years from the in-service date or 36,000 miles on the odometer, which ever comes first, and not before.

Of course, they may put new pads with a different compound in them that don't wear out as quickly. But that would be a good thing (unless the braking performance sucked).

do you think that old TSB for rear brake squealing uses new pads with a different compound? my service guy told me that the squeaking is due to the compound that infiniti used in the original pads.
