Do you have to go to the dealership to get the ecu reflash?

now you wouldnt want to go and do that!! you need the right program and software to reflash our G's and not to many shops are capable of it and a dealer wouldnt even touch the ecu. i was planning on going with a technosquare (technosquare.com) reflash or a utec but i was told a local shop here is finishing up some testing for g's for ~ $400 bucks so we'll see what the outcome will be!

I'm glad you all enjoy the sound of the HKS. I had one for about a month and sold it because I felt there was too much noise around 3000 to 3500 RPM, like every time I would go up a small incline. At idle and under full throttle, I loved the sound. Perhaps some sound deadening would have helped but to try to figure that out seemed like too much work. So I sold it and the new buyer is totally happy. Me too after I went back to the stock muffler :-) Cheers!

Mine was used when I got it, and I have had it on over a year now. I love it. Everyone compliments me on the way it sounds. It gives it the right touch of sound that makes it sound like an exotic. We had some friends riding in the back there 25 year old daughter was in the middle. When I started the car she said, "oooohh this car sounds fast, I like it"

As the song says, "cause the chicks dig it"

cuz most exhaust that gain power are catback system. what you need to do is get all the exhaust component to make the HKS a catback instead of axel back.

Intake, Y-Pipe, straight mid. and a ECU flash with Amuse or Techosquare program all help to use the HKS to its full potential. The HKS only works well on top end. without the necessary mods, you wont be able to get the power out of the exhaust. putting on bolt on parts will just not add up power. but the right parts + tuning is the most efficient way to get the most power.

i havnt got a chance to dyno the car, but i did quite a few runs with stock 03-04 G35, 05+ G35, 350Z some are even modded with some exhaust and intake and none of them can keep up so far.

on a stock engine, the VQ35DE you'll feel that the engine will start to slow down after about 5000RPM till redline. on a light tuned one, u can feel the engine keep pushing alot harder until 6600RPM redline (with ECU tuning, i think its raised to 7000RPM)

I'm still undecided about this exhaust mainly of the exhaust tips. The gap is unbearable to look at. Leaning towards Borla, Fujitsubo, or HKS.
