Angry Greddy TT setup

I was just told that I shouldnt put a TT kit on my car because its an Auto and that the tranny cant handle it? Is there a way to rebuild the factory tranny and beef it up?

the same tranny is used in the QX so i think it can handle it...the only thing is the rpm's will go up too fast for the tranny to shift. you should probably get a stillen valve body upgrade. see what others have to say before u take my advice, lol

Do a valve body upgrade and you should be good up to ~***-***whp. Ask Tinman, he has had an SFR TT kit on his 5AT for some time.

Edit: looks like they hold up to ~550whp. There is a link a few posts down.

I am sure the FWD vs RWD transmission has something to do with it.

^^^

It says 550, not 650.

They also talk about a full custom tranny that will go into the 850 range. Check out the link.

VRT has their coupe which makes 760whp/800wtq. I met a guy here in Phoenix who has ridden in it and he said you can't even tell until you hit the gas. It's quite a sleeper for the most part.

It's the same engine so with the right TT set-up you can make similar power with an AT.

So you didn't do a VB upgrade? I guess since you are still down in the 400 range you are ok. Good call with the cooler.

I don't think are cars would stand a chance in the Formula One circuit

i wouldnt build it till u break it.
If it ain't broken why fix it.

How much of a hassle would it be to convert to 6mt? I couldnt see it costing to much.
