OE Tire mileage

Guys... i know a lot depends on how you drive.... but how much you got out of the original tires that came with the G. I have 26k on my 2005 and i think i can squeze another 5-6k miles out of them.

wow - i am at 3700 miles and I am noticing some good tire wear - especially on the edges. I guess I need to slow it down on the corners. I wonder when i rotate my tires - if I should cross rotate them so that the sidewalls/edges have even wear on both sides on the fronts especially.

On the Stock 17" wheels/tires. I took them off at 36k and there was still 2mm before the treadwear indicators. So I gather they could go 40k... I guess it does depend on how you drive and how you maintain your tires air pressure.

don't get me wrong, I take corners hard and I don't go easy on the throttle. I just make sure I keep 'em rotated properly every time I change the oil :P

Also, another thing to keep in mind is you can affect how the tires wear better by adjusting tire pressure. So say after a bunch of cornering your sides are worn, you can increase the pressure to wear the inside of the tire more, that way you can balance it out better and the tires will last longer even with harder cornering.

Goodyear @ 22K then I went with some 18's. The rear tires were just short of the wear indicator and the front was just slightly better.
